Sverre Indris Joner: Piano, Steinar Haugerud: Upright Bass, Svein Hansen: Flute.

It all began in 1985 with a duo: “Duo Samambaia”.

The repertoire was mainly Choros from Brazil and Tangos, Milongas, Chacareras and Zambas from Argentina. All arranged by Sverre.

The duo wanted to expand with an upright bass, so Steinar Haugerud joined the group and it became a trio: “Trio Samambaia”

We played mostly in jazz clubs in the area of Oslo.

The audience was very supporting; even if the jazz club was full, you could hear a needle drop when the group performed.

The Duo and/or Trio Samambaia was active approximately from 1985 to 1988.

Sverre had a Tascam 4 track Cassette recorder. The three songs you can listen here was recorded on that recorder.

The trio also participated on the first record of "Fra Ola Narr", on the last song of the record: "Tango For To".
